Feature Film - The Little Mermaid

Fall is finally here and very much welcomed! This weekend was a crazy busy weekend, the first of many for the rest of the year. Saturday we did a CostCo run, it's amazing how much money we spend at Costco. We did by a lot of food...it's alway fun to find new things for Seth to eat.

Saturday afternoon we went to a pumpkin festival held in our subdivision. It was a pretty nice setup. There was a pumpkin patch, pumpkin decorating, story time, a magic show and a play in the hay area. Our 2 yr old LOVED it! He's an interesting one...I call him an old soul. He has never been one to run around and be out of control (yes...I know he is still two). He needs to ease into a situation and check it out. He is quite the observer. Once he is comfortable with the situation he goes full throttle - this he gets from his Dad. I'm the fly by the seat of their pants girl and my husband is the analytical one. I think both qualities are equally good.

Sunday started early for me, I went to Galveston to help my friend Nicole set up her jewelry booth for Artoberfest. Fall decided to arrive and it was a rainy and on the chilly side. Not complaining too much because mid-60's are definitely welcomed over mid-90's in Oct. The boys to the opportunity to spend some time together in the morning and when I came home our family had grown by one! Let us all welcome NEMO...our new beta fish. "Oh...Daddy"! Seth loves the fish and it is exciting to watch him look and talk to him...or her...but we'll go with him for now.

Our feature film Sunday afternoon was the Little Mermaid. We have a theatre room in our home that consists of a 106 inch screen and we have started a Wayne Family tradition with watching movies Sunday afternoon complete with popcorn and goobers, mixed (I prefer raisinettes). So far we have watched "Toy Story", "The Incredibles", "The Little Mermaid". Seth LOVES IT, although he does tend to freak out when Ursula becomes 106 inches.

I'm off to run 6 or 7 miles today...I'm ticked that I have to go home first, I forgot my running stuff when I left the house this morning at 5am! Prolly something to do with being sleep deprived. I may normally put the run off until tomorrow but the weather is too nice. Wish me luck...here's to running the longest ever in my running career.

"You're a Daisy if you do..."

So last I posted I was getting ready for a 5K. Not ready early enough evidently, meaning I was told by my friend it started at 7:15a so I pulled in the parking lot at 6:59...needless to say when the race started my friend and I were still in the parking lot...never a dull moment around here. So we sprinted to the table hoping for a chip, nope...great! Long story short I practically sprinted the first mile and as a result finished with a new personal record! I really makes a difference when the temperature is twenty degrees less and no where near the upper 90's! I guess I should also credit the whole training thing.

So...a friend sent this to me today, not sure where it came from but I had to share in order to get the word out to others who may feel weak:

Okay, it is official. We are being ripped off. There are officially no new ideas out in the fashion world today. Ladies, in case you haven't been to the mall in awhile.......stretch pants are back. If you are reading this and this 2 letter word combo has never been on your tongue before.........you are too young to understand my soap box diatribe (is that redundant?) and you are dismissed. Reasons 1- 5 stretch pants are a bad idea:
1. If you wore it the first time around......DO NOT DO IT twice. I am urging you not to give it a
second thought. I mean it, not even the cute ones with Madonna lace around the ankles......

2. I don't care if you still have great legs....say this with me, "I am not 13 anymore, I am not 13
anymore.

3. What would Stacy and Clinton say? Always be on the look out for cameras.

4. Many of my 30 - something - friends are in shape and look fantastic....I am well aware I do
not. I give in to nostalgia way to much in my wardrobe as it is (2 words: scrunchie and vest) to
be stuffing myself like a sausage into pencil thin lycra based pants that will show my "I had a
kid body"

5. Okay here is the big guns of my speech........Have you been to wal-mart lately? Look around,
my friend, take a long hard look. There is a woman buying a can of aqua net and a Billy Rae
Cyrus cd just over there.....and what is she wearing? ...................STRECH PANTS

"He gets up...she gets up...we all get up...It'll be Anarchy"

So...it has happened. I gave in...and decided to start one of these things. Why you ask??? You probably didn't but I'll assume you did because I can. Cause everyone else is doing it??? Probably! My husband has one, my best friends have theirs and I am adicted to dooce.com...oh my gosh that woman is my freakin hero! I think we share the same thoughts. So what the heck. My hat is officially in the ring. I don't have high expectations...just documenting thoughts and goings on in my life right now. OH! I love movies so my titles will always correspond with a movie that fits my mood of the day. Feel free to guess the title! I should point out I am from the south...you may have already figured that out. I know how to read, write and spell...but this is my freakin blog so I reserve the right to misspell words use slang and incoherant sentences as often as I see fit. Whoo...better now! Enjoy

I commence running two miles in about thirty minutes. I'm training for a half marathon! What the heck am I thinking? I thought the only running I would be doing would be when I was being chased. Scary how weight loss can make you do anything when you start seeing results! I had a baby a little over two years ago and I've never lost 15 lbs of my pregancy weight...of course eating and excerising are tried and true solutions to the 15 lbs issue but who wants to do it the hard way. Anyhoo...I have a co-worker who has been running and after three months...she looked great. Being an athelete...aging...back problems...ailments (getting old sucks) and time were always my excuses. So decided to start with baby steps and tried Yoga. LOVE IT! Yoga helped my back problems and enabled me to start running so my friend pressured...I mean convinced me to run a half marathon. I committed myself and although I hate running...I love the "runners high" AND I have so much energy. Enough of the weight loss commercial but it freakin works. Follow an 18 week 1/2 marathon training schedule and you'll get that last 15 off! One more thing...Campbell's Chunky Veggie soup has 110 calories per serving and there is 2 servings in one huge can! Great dinner! Not too heavy after a run and hello!!! Filled up with only 220 calories...sign me up!

Since I have running on the brain...anyone that is thinking about running or is an avid runner has to get the new iPOD NANO and the running chip thingy. Freakin awesome. Records your workouts...talks to you...you can monitor your pace and time with "the voice". I call it that because in the middle of my workout the NANO talks to me and tells me how long I've been running and if I want more detailed information it will tell me my pace and distance. I really need to name "the voice". Something sexy...I'll have to think about that one. Must do it by Saturday. I have a 5K I'm running in...a little nervous but I'm excited that it will be about 20 degrees cooler than when I normally run. I reckon I can gain some time too!

Lastly, Grey's tonight! Seriously! LOVE IT! I can't tell you how many times those episodes have hit home...no...not the panties but wow! McDreamy and McSteamy! HOT-TY!! My mouth fell open when McSteamy walked out of the bathroom...first because oh my gosh was he hot then...OH NO HE DIDN'T! Best show ever.

My Top three shows: Grey's, Studio 60, Lost!!!

Until tomorrow!
